WIN Semiconductors and Agilent Technologies Significantly Expand Design Kit Offering using Agilent’s most recent Advanced Design System 2011 Software

WIN Semiconductors today announced the availability of over a dozen process design kits (PDKs) for their popular process technologies that were developed for use with Agilent Technologies’ recently released Advanced Design System (ADS) 2011 EDA software. The new kits, which work seamlessly with ADS 2011, ADS 2009 Update 1 and prior ADS releases, now enable both WIN Semiconductors and Agilent customers to take full advantage of the significant breakthroughs in ADS 2011.

"Our customers require increased design efficiency and effectiveness to handle the advanced challenges of today's sophisticated RF & microwave designs,” said Brian Lee, Vice President of Sales & Marketing center at WIN Semiconductors. "We collaborated with Agilent to upgrade the majority of our PDKs for the new ADS 2011 platform, together with several enhancements, so our common customers can leverage the new capabilities needed to realize full design potential and quick time to market."

"We worked with WIN Semiconductors early on to ensure the availability of ADS PDKs right after the ADS 2011 shipment," said Juergen Hartung, foundry program manager of Agilent’s EEsof EDA organization. “With these kits, our customers can now enjoy the industry’s most comprehensive multi-technology design platform using Momentum, the industry-leading 3D planar EM simulator, our integrated full 3D FEM engine, industry proven design-for-manufacturing capabilities inside ADS, and an upgraded design rule checker.  These capabilities are just some of the reasons why the majority of MMIC designers choose ADS to increase performance, consistency and yield.”

The WIN PDKs support a complete ADS front-to-back end MMIC design flow with scalable devices, native design rule checker and the latest layout capabilities in ADS 2011.
