April 30, 2003 { WIN Semiconductors Corp., the world・s
leading GaAs MMIC foundry, today announced the election
of Messrs. Dennis Chen and Tony Lin as the Chairman and
Vice-Chairman of WIN during a Special BOD Meeting on April
29, 2003. Due to personal reasons, the former Chairman Mr.
Ocean Hsieh, has decided to retire; he will continue to
serve as one of the Executive Directors on the BOD of WIN
and will continue to provide strategic guidance as well
as advice to the Company.
:In addition to establishing its position as the premier
provider of GaAs foundry services, WIN has made a significant
contribution to the development of Taiwan・s wireless communication
industry in the past four years,; said Mr. Hsieh. :I am
very proud of WIN・s accomplishment. But regrettably I have
decided to retire due to age and personal health reasons.
It is my believe that WIN will get even better under Chairman
Chen・s leadership.;
WIN・s newly elected Chairman, Mr. Chen stated, :WIN has
successfully grown to become the largest GaAs MMIC Company
in Taiwan. During this period, the Company has also enjoyed
considerable success. Much of this success can be attributed
to Mr. Ocean Hsieh, who aggressively secured fund raising,
technology development, manufacturing capability advancement
and international strategic partnerships.;
Mr. Chen added, "Since WIN・s establishment, under
the support and leadership of Chairman, Mr. Ocean Hsieh,
the Company has had excellent financing support along with
operational results. For WIN・s management team and employees,
the departure of Mr. Ocean Hsieh is not an easy one. The
entire Company would like to express their best wishes regarding
Mr. Hsieh・s future plans."
About Mr. Dennis Chen
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of WIN
since its establishment, Chairman Dennis Chen is the President
of Namchow Group. He has an in-depth understanding of the
communications-semiconductor industry as well as the current
status and operations of WIN Semiconductors. Mr. Chen holds
Master degrees in Accounting and Public Administration from
Tamkang University, Taiwan and University of San Francisco,
respectively
